Isle of Wight in Focus - COMPETITION NOW CLOSED

Please read these terms and conditions before entering. It is each entrant's responsibility to read and understand these terms and conditions. By submitting an entry, you agree to abide by the competition rules as outlined below.

Organiser: The Isle of Wight in Focus Photo Competition is organised by Hose Rhodes Dickson, a trading name of Leaders Limited, company number 01690574. Registered Address: Crowthorne House, Nine Mile Ride, Wokingham, Berkshire, RG40 3GZ.

All entries must be submitted between 1^st and 30^th June 2024. All entries will be shortlisted by Hose Rhodes Dickson, and winners and runners up will be selected by the marketing team. Prizes will be awarded to four winners and four runners-up as detailed below.

Eligibility

1. Open to full-time residents and visitors of the Isle of Wight.
2. Employees and relatives of Hose Rhodes Dickson and Leaders Romans Group, and their suppliers, are ineligible. This includes photographers hired by Hose Rhodes Dickson.
3. Open to both professional and amateur photographers.
4. Entrants under 18 must have a parent or legal guardian submit their entry, confirming they have read these terms and conditions.
5. By entering, you confirm your eligibility and ability to claim any prize. Hose Rhodes Dickson may request proof of eligibility, which will be destroyed after verification without retaining any records.

Photography Guidelines

1. Entries must be original photographs taken by the entrant on the Isle of Wight, with details of where it was taken.
2. Editing and adjustments are allowed but must be declared.
3. Computer-generated or AI-created entries are prohibited and will be disqualified.
4. If identifiable individuals are in the photo, ensure their consent. Photos of children under 16 require written permission from a parent or legal guardian.
5. Photos can be taken with any device suitable for the category but must be no larger than 5MB. Winners may be asked for a higher resolution image.
6. Entries deemed lewd, inappropriate, offensive, or promoting inappropriate behaviour will be disqualified and may be reported to the police.
   
   

Copyright and Permissions

1. Entries must not contain visible trademarks or third-party intellectual property without permission.
2. By submitting, you confirm:
   1. The image is original and taken by you.
   2. You have permission from all involved photographers.
   3. The image is not licensed in a way that conflicts with its use by Hose Rhodes Dickson.
   4. The image does not contain third-party trademarks or intellectual property without permission.
   5. The image does not include product placement or promotion.
   6. You have obtained consent from identifiable individuals in the photo and explained these terms and conditions to them.

Consent of Usage

1. Photographers grant Hose Rhodes Dickson the right to use their name for identification as the author or competition winner.
2. Photographers retain copyright but grant Hose Rhodes Dickson a non-exclusive, irrevocable, royalty-free, worldwide, perpetual license to use, republish, edit, and modify the entry in publications, websites, social media, and promotional material.
3. Hose Rhodes Dickson will not sell any photographs submitted into the competition.
4. Hose Rhodes Dickson will credit the photographer whenever the image is used but is not liable for unintentional omissions.

Liability

Prizes

Four winners will each receive £200 in Love2Shop vouchers, and their photographs will be featured and credited on Hose Rhodes Dickson property boards for all properties and commercial units available for let or sale. The winning photographs will also be displayed on the Hose Rhodes Dickson website, hose-rhodes-dickson.co.uk.

Four runners-up will each receive £50 in Love2Shop vouchers, and their photographs will be featured on the Hose Rhodes Dickson website, hose-rhodes-dickson.co.uk.

Hose Rhodes Dickson reserves the right to substitute any prize with one of comparable value if necessary. Any such changes will be communicated to the relevant winner. Prizes are non-transferable, non-exchangeable, and non-sellable, and no cash alternatives are available. If a winner does not respond to repeated contact attempts within two weeks of the winner announcement, Hose Rhodes Dickson reserves the right to offer the prize to another entrant. The alternate entrant must respond within two weeks to be eligible.

Judges

Entries will be shortlisted and judged by the Hose Rhodes Dickson marketing team, consisting of up to four individuals. The decision of the marketing team (acting reasonably) will be final.

If, in Hose Rhodes Dickson's reasonable opinion, an entrant attempts to bribe any judge or member of the shortlisting committee, the entrant will be immediately disqualified.

Additional Information

These terms and conditions are governed by English law. Any legal proceedings must be conducted within the courts of England and Wales. Hose Rhodes Dickson reserves the right to disqualify any entry that breaches these terms and conditions at any time during the competition. Disqualification may not be communicated to the photographer.

Hose Rhodes Dickson reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions without notice at any time. It is the entrant's responsibility to regularly review these terms and conditions to stay informed of any changes or amendments. Hose Rhodes Dickson also reserves the right to cancel this competition at any time, in which case all entrants will be informed.

Hose Rhodes Dickson will not be responsible for competition entries that are lost, mislaid, damaged, or delayed in transit, regardless of the cause, including postal failure, equipment failure, technical malfunction, systems issues, or any network, server, computer hardware, or software failure.

Hose Rhodes Dickson will not accept proof of posting or transmission as proof of receipt of entry.
